My answer refers to the Mk 1–3 Centurions which are at least from the same period as Panther, albeit somewhat later. The Centurion of the s with mm is a much better vehicle but can’t be sensibly compared with a WW2 tank Either tank can kno. As a comparison, the PzIV Ausf G had frontal armor of only about 50mm at a 60 to 90 degree angle depending on upper/lower sides – A relative thickness of only 55mm. Additionally, the Pz V Ausf G (Panther) had 60mm to 80mm of frontal armor at a 55 degree angle – A .

By Ben Hollingum, WHEN THE PANTHER TANK first appeared on the battlefields of the Eastern Front, the Soviets did not have an effective weapon to counter it. They had a new medium tank in development (the T) but, having been commissioned in to counter the Panzer IV ausf. F, it did not have enough firepower or armour protection to go up against the Panther. The tank has a working turret that is rotated electronically, the gun fires pyrotec charges, and the gun moves when fired, the tank comes with a horsepower Diesel engine, but a .

Production of the Panzer V Panther Ausf D was to start in December , with to be built by 12 May , the time for the summer offensive. The Ausf A was the second series of the Panther production. The basic design remained the same as the Ausf D, the difference being a series of modifications to improve performance.   The panther is better at killing tanks, and the panzer IV is better at killing infantry. They can both do either effectively though. The panther has longer range, higher damage, and better health and armor; but it costs alot more when you include the tech and is only okay at killing infantry.

This book covers the best tank of WW2, the Panzer V Panther (hey, no booing from the T crowd!). As always, Jonathan Forty's text is concise, easy to read and absorb. The photos are spectacular. I thought that the Panther was pretty well covered in photos by now, but there were still some pictures in this book that I had never seen before/5(2).

The story of one of the most famous combat vehicles of the 20th century, the German Panzerkampfwagen V "Panther” medium tank, would not have started without the confrontation of the Wehrmacht with the Soviet T/5(6). The only books/magazines to look at the German forces adequately are unfortunately OOP: Allied-Axis 1.
